Most of the people do not give much thought into designing hallways and entrances while decorating their homes. Entrances, corridors and hallways have great significance in Vastu Shastra as they bring people into our homes. So it is important not to overcrowd them. Depending on the size, purpose of your hallways,

Vastu suggests several tips you can consider to make them beautiful and a source of positivity in your homes.

Mirrors:
● One must place a convex mirror on the outside wall of the house to ward off all the negative energies trying to enter the home.
● However, ensure that the mirror is facing outwards and not towards the house. Else, the effect will be the exact opposite.
● Avoid placing the mirror in the north or east direction. Since these directions are considered the passage for the flow of positive energy, placing a mirror here may obstruct the flow of positive energy into your house.
● Do not place two mirrors facing each other. They may bring restlessness among the family members.
● Make sure not to possess any broken or cracked mirror inside the house.

Lamp and flower Vase:
● Place a lamp or a beautiful flower vase in your hallway to ensure the flow of positive energy inside your home.
● Also, if there is limited space in the hallway or corridor, you can hang decorative artefacts/mirrors on its walls.

Ideal location to place Buddha:
● We can easily find many forms of buddha nowadays in the market. Lately, it has been a trend to place Buddha statue in homes as a decorative measure.
● As per Vastu Shastra, place buddha facing the front door in order to obstruct the negative energies entering inside your home.
● Also, Vastu Shastra believes that Buddha has divine power to nullify the impact of negative forces.
● Avoid keeping buddha statue on the floor. Always keep it at a certain height above ground, preferably on a table.
● Keep the Buddha statue clean and tidy. Also, place it in such a way that it faces the East direction.
● If you possess a sleeping Buddha, keep it in a way so that it faces the West direction.

Ideal Location to place Lord Ganesha:
● Placing Ganesha statue in the house is very popular among most of the Indians. If you are planning to place a Ganesha statue at the house entrance, then, Vastu suggests to place them back to back to avoid poverty.

Bowl of water with flowers:
● Water symbolises wealth. So keep a bowl of water with some colourful flowers in it in the corridor or hallway.
● Make sure to change the water in the bowl regularly. Also, always keep fresh flowers in the water bowl.

Bowl with Sea salts:
● Vastu Shastra considers salt as a symbol of purification. Sea salt is believed to clean all the negative energy.
● You can mix sea salts with water and place the mixture in a bowl in the north-west or south-west direction in your home.
● Various salts such as Epsom, rock salt can be used to fight negative energy, stress and other unwanted feelings.

Agarbathis/Dhoop in the entrance:
● Placing agarbathis and dhoops in the entrances regularly helps to eliminate negativity from our homes.
