Answering the call to the clients need for a bachelor apartment, architects Anu and Prashant Chauhan of Zero9 architecture and design studio bring functionality and design together to create the perfect bachelor space. Walls were minimized to accommodate more people for get-togethers, and a generous dose of glamour was introduced through refreshing colours such as turquoise, white and gold. The apartment features automation systems that further enhance the comfort factor.
1. To attain a spacious look, this living room is connected to the lounge area which has contemporary and traditional designs. Interesting wall displays and furniture such as laser-cut chairs add to the visual appeal of this space. Living room also has a jaali pattern created near the wall that complements the lounge chairs very well. Warm colours such as champagne tone and brown add an interesting twist to the space.
2. Curtains, entertainment gadgets and lights are automated. All these systems are controlled from the main server located at the panel situated behind the statue of Buddha. Wall partition created near the entrance serves as a great connecting element for other rooms.
3. Gold leaf design on the centre table adds grandeur to the space. Another unique feature is the chandelier which has an inbuilt fan. Utility items such as bottle storage, ice maker and glasses are well concealed from view. As a result, this space is perfect to hold meetings for a casual evening chat. To maintain consistency, the furniture has an attractive jaali pattern.
4. Inspired by the Moroccan theme, the master bedroom looks beautiful with bright colours like turquoise and white which serves as a perfect relaxing space. The back-painted glass of the headboard echoes the same hues. Hand-carved MDF, painted white, has been used for the back panel.
5. Carrying forward the brown and beige theme from the living area, the guest bedroom features a headboard made with the help of machine- fabricated and polished MDF sheets.
6. (Left) Excellent utilization of space is visible in the kitchen as a single cabinet has been used to accommodate appliances such as refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher. An acrylic shutter in glossy finish adds sheen to this space. Four-coloured back-painted glass used for the platform adds colour and gives an aesthetic feel to this space. (Right) Like other rooms, the bathroom also has a stylish feel as Armani brown stone has been used for an elegant finish. Similarly, the flooring too is done in Armani marble. The walls and glass bear designs inspired by peacock feathers..
