9 vastu tips for the kitchen

The kitchen is an important part of the house, and vastu shastra, too, dwells at length upon its position and orientation says vastu expert Abhishek Shukla.
1. According to vastu, the South East corner is ideal for constructing a kitchen. However, if you are a person who loves to entertain and cook spicy food, you can get your kitchen in North West zone as well.
2. Never keep your kitchen in the South West or North East corners, as both will lead to ill effects.
3. Ensure that you face East when you cook, and also while cooking your back should face a wall or some sort of a partition to avoid mental stress and other issues.
4. Always paint your kitchen in white or light colours and keep the stove in the South East corner, in a way that you face east while cooking.
5. If you have a RO, place it in the North West section and water sources in the North East part of the kitchen. Similary, the sink can be constructed in the North West or North East corners.
6. Always use green granite or white marble for the kitchen platform. Never use a black one.
7. Keep small plants in the kitchen.
8. Ensure that the windows in the kitchen face the East.
9. Use wood as much as possible while renovating or decorating the interiors of the kitchen.
