Illness, stress, mental issues etc. can be the cause of a person suffering from insomnia. Expert SK Mehta reveals some of the vastu reasons that could lead to this health issue.
- If you sleep facing the north direction, this could be one of the reasons for a person suffering from insomnia. Sleeping in the North direction leads to headache, irritation, disturbed sleep etc. Do not place the bed or mattress in the North or East direction. South is the best position for a sound sleep.
- Don’t sleep with your head facing the door as these spots bring in bad thoughts. You may also have bad dreams.
- If your bed is placed under a beam, this may lead to disturbed sleep as you may constantly experience burden on your head. Ensure there is a flat surface on top for peaceful sleep.
- Water jug placed in the South East direction of the bedroom also leads to sleeplessness. Sleeping on the bed while having lunch should also be avoided for the same reason. Also, ensure that your bedroom has five corners and the walls are not 90 degrees to each other.
- If the colour of the furniture is dark and colours of the room not suitable, you may suffer from insomnia. Keep the North East direction light instead of heavy and bulky as it could lead to disturbed sleep patterns. Sunlight entering the room constantly from the western windows is another cause for sleeplessness.
- Do not leave the door of the washroom in the bedroom open as it could lead to disturbed sleep. Also, keep your sleeping area clean and remove any unpleasant scenery or photograph.
- Mirror opposite the bed is a big no-no because it can lead to bad dreams and sleeplessness. South West direction should not be in a sliding position. Incorrect and extremely heavy false ceiling is another cause of insomnia.
- Room with inflammable materials like cylinder, fridge, gas cylinder, etc. will restrict the person from sleeping peacefully. Similarly, a room with television in the left direction or left switch on for long time at night can be a reason for insomnia apart from addiction to mobiles.
- Slight defect in the North East or South West direction can lead to disturbed sleep. Missing ventilation, creaking door while opening or closing, loud night lamp colour and bedroom gate opening towards staircase area are some of the other reasons that can lead to insomnia or sleeplessness in an individual.
