9 things to tick off before purchasing a dishwasher

Do you throw regular parties at your place and are fed up of the after-party cleanup? Or perhaps you want to free yourself from the hassles of househelp who’s in the habit of playing hooky? Consider getting a dishwasher, and keep these tips by Vishal Raman, Head of Sales, Franke Faber India Pvt. Ltd., in mind before doing so.
1. First determine for how many people you need the dishwasher and how often you will be using it. Keep in mind things like energy efficiency, cost, etc.

2. Space is the most important deciding factor. In case of kitchens that cannot accommodate a dishwasher on a 'full-time' basis, get a wheeled version, which can be stored elsewhere when not in use.

7. If you have babies at home, consider purchasing a dishwasher with a silent motor function. Additionally, a child safety lock will help restrict unwanted changes in settings.
8. Ensure the dishwasher has adjustable racks to accommodate dishes of different sizes and shapes.
9. Look out for the delay-start function that will allow you to program the dishwasher to start at a specific time. The delay time in different models varies from an hour to 24 hours. The control panel on the face of the machine may lead to visual clutter. To avoid this, select a piece whose controls are visible only on opening the door.
