Interior designer Deeksha Khatree gives you easy ways to decorate your kid’s bedroom.
- You can create mini art wall in your kid’s room to display the art and craft made by your kid in school, summer camps or with you. Doing this will not only project child's art and craft but it will also motivate your kid to do more and at the same time enhance the decor of your child's room.
- Another method to decorate your kid’s room is to have a special spot using canopy or rug where the child can read, relax or play with toys.
- Opt for gender neutral design for your kid’s bedroom. Normally people prefer blue theme interior for a boy and pink for a girl. Instead of these two colours, go for pastel colours with natural light. These look great in children's bedroom.
- Elements like the blackboard, bean bags and lights can be used to give a room the required warmth.
- Maximize storage and keep things simple in this room because it is difficult to decorate a bedroom for someone in a growing age.
- Kid's bedroom furniture consists of bed with side table, study table, storage racks, window sit-out, etc, and is available in various shapes and designs. Stay away from sharp edge furniture in kid's bedroom for safety reasons.
- Wall decals/wall stickers are easier, quicker and cheaper to use than wallpaper. Little dots, triangles, clouds, fishes are some of the options available.
- If you wish to have something different and ready to spend money, the kid's bedroom can be decorated according to your preference. As per the child's liking, it can be made to look like pirate ship, spaceship console, tree house bedroom, fairytale room etc.
