A mirror is a beautiful thing. It reflects; it creates an illusion of space… but use it with care in your home, says vastu expert Abhishek Shukla.
- Since glass is an energy reflector, never use too many mirrors or glasses at home or office – at the most four mirrors are allowed in a home.
- Never place a mirror or dressing table at the foot of your bed. If this is the case, cover the mirror while sleeping or else it may result in aches in the back or legs in women.
- Avoid installing a mirror in a child’s room. This can cause irritability and loss of concentration.
- Try not to use circular or oval-shaped mirrors at home or in the office. If you have to, you can use a mirror in the washroom and that too only on the walls to the south and west. But make sure it does not capture your reflection when you’re in the shower.
- Never keep a broken or cracked mirror at your place. It is a reason for negativity and disturbances.
- Never use mirrors or glass on the ceilings as the energy from the earth will get reflected back. If you want to use mirrors or glass as decorative items on the roof, use the dark variety.
- Coloured glasses are considered good according to vastu. Apart from bedrooms, you can use coloured glasses everywhere at your place.
- Always position a mirror such that it reflects a positive element. This will bring you happiness and success. Make sure the mirror does not reflect a door.
