In average human body, presence of water is 50-75%. Because of various issuesfrom the side of water supplier (mostly Municipal Corporation) or your home, the water quality may degrade with noticeable effects like change in taste, colour. There are several methods to improve the quality of water among which few are mentioned below :-

  1. For direct use of underwater
Using wells, borings removes the filtration process done by the corporation and exposes our usage to contaminated water without any treatment. Extra steps should be taken while using well water. The chemical composition of water should be checked. The casing of wells, the condition of boring pipes should be examined periodically. Any crack or failed sealing can uncover the water to worms, dirt, harmful bacteria and viruses. The placement and examination of these things requires some professional assistance so a professional people should be hired.
  2. Checking the path
The water we receive is passed through many filtration process before reaching your home. Depending on the origin of water, it may be contaminated. Start the quality check from the evaluation of pipes. Change in water pressure or any partial corrosion can affect the water quality. The corrosion can be inside or outside. Any replacement should not be done by inexperienced person as there are many linked things which can be troublesome. So, better leave it to the professionals.
  3. Water Filtration Systems
Filters can improve the taste and purity of water by removing all the unwanted particles. A good water filtration system with proper care can function for long span as long as regular cleaning is done. The water filtration system should be considered based on all factors like quality of water, quantity of water to be filtered every day, space and budget.
  4. Whole-House Filters
Whole-house filters normally consist of a pre-filter and associated main filter which are installed on the main water supply for water purification of all sort of purposes like washing utensils and clothes, bathing, cleaning, etc. The installation should be done by the professional plumbers.
  5. Point-of-Entry Filters
If you receive water having weird and questionable odour, taste or colour occasionally. Then, a filter applied on the water-supply line for kitchen like at sink, refrigerator, water containers can be used.Now-a-days the availability of movable water purifiers has increased which gives the consumer a wide variety of products to choose from. Professional help is not needed in the implementation of these filters as anyone with basic knowledge can install this. Most purifiers are aimed for kitchen usages.
  6. Reverse Osmosis Systems
These purifiers uses the reverse osmosis technology to purify the water. In this process, the water is passed through many semipermeable membranes which layer by layer pollutants, bacteria and viruses, sedimentary particles. Healthy components like water, natural minerals stays dissolved for the drinkable and unadulterated water. This system should be installed by professionals only while the membranes should be replaced time to time as the impure particles accumulate of these filters decreasing its efficiency.
  7. Distillers
These systems removes everything from water ranging from impurities to healthy minerals and oxygen. The distillers are easy to install and replace arrangements and can be installed without seeking any professional help. These systems heat the water into stream and then condense it storing in a different location which is pure water.

Consumption of impure water can lead to many difficulties from the perspective of health and quality of life. It is always a better option to keep a track on quality of water and do check the water supply system on a regular basis. In case of urgency, water should be boiled and used if filters are not viable options.
