7 tips to care for and protect artwork

If you have a great collection of art and want to preserve it, let’s take a look at simple tips to care and preserve your art.
- Ensure that canvas work is always framed. There is no need to use glass. Take care that the frame used to support it is stretched so that your artwork remains unaffected by climate or fluctuation in temperature.
- To keep your expensive painting or artwork from fading, use polycarbonate with UV protection. Ensure that the tape used on frames is free of acid so that it stays free from stains.
- Hang paintings at a location that does not get direct sunlight or humidity.
- Paper work canvas has to be protected with the help of glass. Put a paper carton around the work and ensure the artwork is protected from acid.
- Never clean paintings with any liquid cleaning agent. All you have to do is dust with a light brush.
- To get rid of dust, remove the artwork from the wall and shake it. You can turn it upside down as well.
- Protect wooden frames from attacks by pests. For this keep a thorough check on the frame from time to time.
