Are you confused about which coffee-maker suits your preference? Ramesh Chembath, Business Head – Kitchen Appliances, Usha International, offers you some simple tips to help you make your choice easier.
1. The first and most important factor while purchasing a coffee machine is to check whether it is easy to use. It should have buttons with indicators on it. This ensures ease of use.
2. Speed is another important aspect for coffee lovers. Ensure that the machine does not take more than five minutes to brew.
3. If coffee is all about aroma for you, look for a coffee machine with an aroma function. All you need to do is press a button – and the aroma is released when the water trickles into the filter basket.
4. Check whether the machine has a protective mechanism such as an auto shut-off button that comes in handy if the coffee machine/water becomes too hot when left unattended.
5. Portable filter is another useful feature. This holds the filter containing the coffee. While at the store, see if you are able to fit and remove the filter easily.
6. You should be able to remove and lift the drip tray easily. This ensures minimum spilling of leftover coffee.
7. The heating element is normally concealed for safety purposes. Choose a machine that has this feature.
