The powdered form people find intimidating about Indian cooking is the vast array of spices Indians use in everyday cooking. To make cooking more functional, check out some clever storage ideas by Architect Onal Kothari.
1Organize with stackable tins:
This storage is a neater and desirable method to place spices in the kitchen. You can buy or do it yourself using chalkboard paint and use chalk or ink to label them.
2Dedicated drawers:
Arrange spices in kitchen cabinets or have a dedicated drawer like you have for your silverwares. If you have enough kitchen space, give round drawers a try. It will fit best with your modular design.
3 Label your containers with chalkboard paint:
Store all your spices in boxes with little modifications. Paint the top of your spice box with chalk paint for easy labelling and you will have the solution in no time.
4Magnets organizers:
Fix magnets inside your cabinet doors. This vertical display solution works wonderfully for kitchen with small square foot areas. It also looks beautiful and makes spices easier to access.
5Flying between your cabinets and platform:
You can build pull out mason jars with the help of magnetic strips on the bottom of your cabinets and attach spice jars to it.
6Spice rack:
If you have enough space in the kitchen, you can build a rack for your spices. On the other hand, if you are stuck with limited area, try a pull out spice rack. Place the rack in a vertical position but the function to use it should be horizontal.
7Test tube magic:
Make use of your kid’s science appliances for your kitchen makeover. Create a test tube spice rack and mount them on the walls.
