If you have a big space, it becomes very important to organize the place neatly so that it does not look awkward. Let’s take a look at a few tips on ways to highlight areas in open spaces.
- Open floors can be segregated into different walkways according to its functionality. Work out a plan and act according to it. For example, create a master plan in your mind about where you want the kitchen to be or if you want the living and kitchen area side by side etc.
- Lights add drama to a space. You can have recessed lights in the centre. This becomes a fashionable statement and easily demarcates the space. Use spot lights, pendant lights or chandeliers with unique light effects for a stunning feel.
- Raised floor in open spaces is another way to segregate large spaces. Raise the floor slightly to create a neat distinction between two areas. This is a modern method and can be defined with few steps.
- Place stylish and colourful rugs below furniture to divide spaces. Available in different designs, patterns and colours, use these to give a modern look. Rugs are easy to maintain and clean.
- False ceiling is another method to organize your space. If the ceiling has a certain frame like structure it automatically becomes the focal point. Dropped ceiling becomes a style statement in the space.
- Incorporate glass in the interiors as it gives an airy feel. Glass doors and partitions is a unique way to separate spaces. Use wood, stone and concrete to create a balance and contrast in the space. Light can easily pass through glass, giving a nice glow to the space.
