6 tips to care for your marble floors

If you have marble floors and are wondering how to take care of it, here are a few tips on how to retain the shine on your marble flooring.
- Polish the marble flooring regularly because dust can settle on it easily and fade the colour of the stone, making it look ugly. Regular cleaning may not help. Always use dry cotton cloth or hot water to clean your marble floors.
- Scratches can appear on the surface if you pull and push heavy items on the floor. The mark appearing due to the scratches can remain forever. So avoid it.
- Marble is extremely sensitive to juices, coffee or any acidic substance. If any of these fall on the marble floor, stains will appear which needs to be cleaned as early as possible. If left unattended, the surface gets an ugly look.
- Products containing ammonia, vinegar or lemon should not be used to clean marble surfaces because it may cause damage.
- Mop the marble surface on a daily basis. This is very effective to remove any kind of dust that settles on your marble. Use doormats to ensure dust does not enter inside the house.
- If you have the habit of keeping cans or glasses on the floor, ensure that you keep a coaster below it to safeguard the surface from any kind of damage.
