Although plastic containers look beautiful, maintaining them is a big challenge. Let’s take a look at few tips to overcome this challenge.
- Put 4 tablespoons of baking soda in quarter cup of lukewarm water. Now keep the plastic containers immersed in such as way that all the containers are immersed in the water. Remove after 30 minutes and wash with clean water.
- The smell inside the plastic container does not go easily. To get rid of the odour, put the newspaper by turning it a little bit in the container and close the lid. After one or two days, remove the newspaper from the container. The stink will disappear. Wash the container with water, clean the lid with hot water and soap and dry them well.
- To get rid of stains and faded colour, mix one tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach in a cup of hot water. The mixture should be made in the same quantity, in which the container faded or the faded part can be covered. Now put this mixture inside the container. If there are stains in the lid as well, put it in the sink and put the bleach mixture over it. Keep it for 30 minutes or until it gets cleaned. Wash the container and clean the lid with hot water and soap and dry them thoroughly.
- Before preparing tomato-based food in the plastic containers use nonstick cooking spray inside the container so that stains don’t appear on them.
- Before bringing the container in contact with heat, check whether the container is microwave-safe or not. Otherwise the plastic can be spoiled and odour will remain inside.
