- Trend origins: Always look out for the origin of the trend. If its origin lies in Europe then avoid copying it. The climate and lighting are immensely different hence these trends may not look great in an Indian setting. Always amplify colour pallet suiting to Indian light setting. For example, if millennial pink is trending, you can opt for its Indian counterpart like baby pink. It gives similar effect and doesn't end up looking dull.
- Too artsy: One also needs to keep in mind that there is a difference between décor set up showcased in magazines and in real life. If you like a particular trend, then replicating it, indiscriminately in your home might make it too artsy or even pretentious. It might omit out the warmth of self-styled home.
- Don't mix patterns: If you are a religious follower of trends then you would be very well aware that print patterns vary every season.
