After you purchase your bean bag you may find it really hectic to maintain your favourite bean bag. Nishie Gupta, architect and interior designer, Marvelaa Design & Interiors shares a few tips to help you maintain the exclusivity of your bean bag.
- Damaged feather: Cuts, scratches, nicks or any damaged area can be repaired with GOOP, the rubberized glue.
- Stains: To clean stains of jam and soft drinks, use cloth and water. For grease and wax marks, Varsol and gasoline would be perfect.
- Major repairs: You can re-stitch or change the damaged zipper and panels easily, but do not try it yourself or from a street tailor. Take your bean bag to the vendor you purchased from and ask them to get it repaired either free if it is in under warranty or pay for the damage if out of warranty.
- Risk zone: Make sure your bean bags are away from baseboard heaters and sharp corners or else the product may face the danger of getting damaged.
- Ease in movement: Pear shaped bean bags is the easiest to move around the house with the point down. It reduces the width of the base as the beads settle to the point. Thus, you will have easy movement through doors and narrow passages.
