What is laminate flooring?

How to get the room ready for laminate flooring ?
Levelling matters before installing laminate floor . When you install laminate flooring, the subfloor surface has to be completely flat. Otherwise the surface gets imbalance over time. There are compounds that are available to make the floor even, before you install the flooring. These self-leveling compounds level uneven surfaces when poured onto the subfloor. For an old construction, laminate flooring can be overlapped above existing tiles.

Does thickness of laminate matters ?
Laminate thickness is defined as the base of the board to the top of it. The product is typically measured in millimeters and is dependant on the grade of the product and the manufacturer. There are four common thickness measurements for laminate flooring:
1- 6 millimeter (least cost, least durability)
2- 8 millimeter
3- 10 millimeter
4- 12 millimeter (highest cost, highest durability)
