Nowadays, artificial flowers are almost close to the real thing. And just as you spray real flowers and change their water to make them last a little longer, you need to indulge these too. Sachin Singh, Director of Flower Basket, Bhopal, tells us how to take care of these artificial beauties…
- Artificial flowers are either made of silk and nylon, or rubber (often referred to as real touch). The maintenance you undertake will depend on the material that the blooms are made of.
- These decorations are delicate, so handle them with care.
- Use a vacuum cleaner, canned air and feather duster to get rid of dust.
- A company called Oasis manufactures special flower maintenance sprays to clean real touch flowers. The spray forms a waxy coating on the flower, which can then easily be removed with a soft brush.
- Silk flowers should be soaked in a mixture of shampoo and water overnight. They should then be rinsed by dipping them in clean water. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing and leave them to dry.
