Decorating your home is always a work in progress. We keep adding things to our house that reflects our personality and choice. Just like your wardrobe needs regular updates, so does your home decor. Vaibhav Jain, CEO, Deco Window, takes you through some very common mistakes to be avoided to ensure your home décor does not look out of place.
- Open wires: Open wires around the television, near computer table or lamps, spoil the entire decoration as it grabs attention easily. It is better to conceal these cable wires, keep it inside a designed box or use binder pins to hold wires. This will give the space a systematic and clutter free look.
- Dumping stuff: Piling up dirty clothes or having too many toys, books, newspaper around makes the place look messy. To avoid this mess, use separate bags. These are handy as you can dump your toys or dirty clothes in it.
- Uncomfortable bedding: Opt for comfortable pillows, mattress, bedding sets and 100 percent cotton or linen bedding material that can add to your comfort and help regulate body heat. Uncomfortable bedding can not only affect your sleep but also create other concerns like body ache and backaches in the long run.
- Too many cabinets: Wall cabinets and wall units are not in trend anymore and they make room for unwanted items. Trends have changed to minimum furniture and hence sleeker version like shelves are in trend. Open shelves are easy to clean and looks organized.
- Dark rooms: A dark home looks dull whereas a bright home looks fresh and gives positive vibes. So lighten up your home with different kind of lighting options like hanging lights, charcoal lamps, chandeliers or even pop-ceiling lights.
