Mario Fernandez, Ferntastica Gardens Ltd, gives pointers on the different types of pots that can be used for indoor plants.

  1. Earthen pots are the best as it keeps the plant cool, absorbs water and helps water to evaporate from the sides.
  2. If you are using plastic pots, there is no transpiration. The roots of the plants rot if the water doesn’t drain out. For indoor plants, there must be some amount of sunlight in the room to help the plant prepare its food.
  3. It’s best to have two pots for plants. Keep one arrangement for a week indoors and then keep these pots outside and bring a new set inside.
  4. The containers for plants also add to the indoor landscaping display. Tiny pots, flat pots, hanging containers can all add to the decor.
