We all love travelling and to remember the travel moments we often collect souvenirs that could be small magnets, wall hangings, miniatures etc. And souvenirs could be great elements in home decor. Want to know how? Mohit Mishra, Founder, Urban Upgrade Interiors shares on interesting tips on how one can use travel souvenirs to enhance their home decor.
- Photographs: photographs are one such thing we all do to memorise our good times. So one can collect few favourite pictures and make a collage. You can also make small stamps out of the pictures, frame them and use them on the display board. Many people like collecting magnets, so you make personalised magnets using your favourite images on them. You can also get your holiday photos printed on plates, coffee mugs, cushion covers or keychains.
- Postcards: some people like to collect postcards. So instead of spending money on buying a postcard, you can make your own. Use the pictures that you have clicked while travelling and make postcards out of them. You can write down the favourite part of your travelling and mail it to your home. Before you reach the postcard will reach your home having stamps of different places as well. Then probably you can laminate it and hang it in your home.
- Specialities of different regions: each and every place has their own unique art and crafts. So you can buy such products such as artefacts, paintings, wall hangings and decorate your home.
- Showcase your creativity: the objects that you collect from your travel can be used creatively. For instance, you can frame the tickets of journey or opera and use as a wall hanging or covering the glass shelves.
So be creative and tell your travel stories through your home decor.
