Energy-efficient systems, well-insulated windows and walls, a small indoor herb garden make your home eco-friendly. However there are certain things to be avoided in a home. Let’s take a look at these things...

1VOCs (volatile organic compounds):

Organic pollutant or carbonic pollution is commonly found in home and office. These are present in paint, cleaning materials, permanent markers and furniture. These VOCs contaminate the atmosphere inside the home or office. It affects health and causes headaches, kidney-liver problems etc. The only way to keep these away is to use low-VOC or non-VOC version products. It would be better to keep or use them in a ventilated area.

2Phthalates:

From perfumes to glue of shower curtains, and pesticides, this chemical is present everywhere these days. Therefore avoiding this chemical is a bit difficult. Experts believe that this chemical comes in contact with us through air, water and food and causes diseases. Do not use closed food in plastic or cans in the kitchen. It would be good to use glass bowl instead of plastic in the microwave.

3Formaldehyde gas:

This is present in building materials. Formaldehyde is also found in products like plywood paneling, MDF and particleboard, which is harmful for our eyes. Use pressed wooden products to reduce this danger, which are made of phenyl resin rather than urea resins. Apart from this, keep in mind that there should be a good ventilation system in the house.

4Petroleum:

For a healthy environment in the house, it must be kept free of petroleum. Petroleum is available in paraffin wax, nail polish and even in plastic products. This contaminates the atmosphere of the house. The only way to avoid these is to be an aware customer that before buying something new, be sure to understand the quantity of petroleum in the finished product.
