14 storage options to get rid of clutter

There are different ways to store things in a house. When stored in an organized manner, it gives you easy access to things. Interior designer Deeksha Khatree lists simple storage tips to make life simple.

You can use sturdy and trim boxes of mugs, bangles, dry fruits, etc to create divided storage inside the drawer for stationary like pens, pencils and cosmetics like lipsticks, rubber bands, kajal pencils, nail paints, clutches etc. This way, you can clear the clutter.

Another method is to hang handbags/purses on a closet bar using curtain hooks. This ensures that the closet floor remains clean.

Empty plastic polythene bags used to purchase grocery or veggies can be kept in a tissue box or cardboard box inside the sink area. This can be used daily to discard garbage.

Bracelets and necklaces can be hung on a wall-mounted coat rack so that it is easy to pick when needed. This also ensures that the product stays tangle free when not in use.

Utilize the wall mount coat rack or a peg board to keep sports equipment such as badminton rackets, football, tennis rackets, skating/cycling, helmets etc.

Organize office stationary on an unused shower rack. This can be hung on one corner on any wall of the room.

Hang plastic baskets with adhesive hooks on cabinet door under the sink. This basket can be used to keep detergents, soap, scrub, brush etc.

To hang brush, broom, wiper etc. use a hook or rod in the bathroom.

You can neatly coil the hose used in the garden in a tin basket or a plastic tub.

To organize scarf, use plastic shower rings with a single hanger.

Keep your stationary, toys, craft material, nail, screws, etc in a transparent plastic organizer.

Paint an old wooden trunk and use it as a coffee table or LED table. This is perfect storage for curtains/ blankets and living room extras. You can also store your rugs, curtains and cushions. in the storage under the bed.

Ottoman storage is another option. This furniture is easily portable and can be used as per your convenience.

You can tuck your newspaper and magazines neatly under the table.
