Everyone wishes to buy a readymade house which doesn’t require much of renovation. There are chances that a person would be ready to pay a premium for such property. Sangeet Sharma, practicing architect and interior designer, gives tips on things to take care of before you put your house on sale.
- It is assumed that the role of an interior designer starts only after purchasing the house. However, an interior designer can give you amazing tips even before you plan to sell your place. Consider making small improvements like paint, furniture placement, etc.
- Take help from various magazines instead of hiring an interior designer. Create a to-do list for the changes required in the interiors of your home and try making changes on your own.
- Hire an expert to sort out issues like water leak, pest control, old electric wires, wall cracks, etc. These should be repaired before you plan to sell the house.
- White wash affects the price of your house tremendously. A recently-painted house will fetch a better price as it looks fresh and updated.
- People today prefer buying homes with greenery around. According to experts, a single tree in a house helps in keeping the place 40% cooler. Always have planters that require less maintenance and care but look beautiful at the same time.
- Gutter cleaning is also very important while selling the house. Always keep the gutter clean and maintained.
- The windows, doors and window panes should be repaired and painted. They not only are a witness to your house age but also show how well maintained the place is.
- Electrical fittings and fixtures and plumbing issues should be updated, maintained and taken care of.
- If you have used various kinds of stones like kota stone in your place for decorations, keep them polished.
- Water tank starts getting dull with time. Getting the tank polished and painted is also important.
