Ever wondered what to do with those half-filled paint boxes lying around in the store room? Make an effective statement in your interiors by using it wisely. Architect Onal Kothari shares some great ideas to add some real beauty to your home.
- Canvas: One of the easiest ways to use left-over colours is to frame your creativity into canvas. Use the colours for your paintings or abstract arts.
- Paint the cabinets: Add splash of colour to your kitchen cabinets by painting the outer portion, giving a shine to the area. Alternatively, you can paint the inside of the cabinet as well. Choice is yours.
- Dip your furniture legs: Coat your dining chairs, cabinets or outdoor sittings by dipping your furniture legs into the leftover colour. It instantly brightens up your furniture and adds life to it.
- Paint your planter: If you have a boring balcony garden with no visual attraction, spice it up with paint. Go ahead and use a variety of colours for different planters and add visual interest to your balcony.
- Stencil it up: Stencil of different designs is easily available. Draw your favourite pattern on the wall or floors with the use of stencils and colour it. You can also design the wall behind your bed or washbasin’s wall.
- Paint the pipelines: Visible pipelines are always a home-style disaster. Pick some colours for plumbing materials, contrasting bathroom walls or tiles.
- Give identity to your welcome door: Depending on how much paint you are left with, you can paint the whole door or just the frame or panels of your door. This adds a new lease of life to your door. You can also do the same with your windows.
- Paint the switch plates: Add expression to your home with specially coloured switch plates. You can either merge it with the existing wall colour or contrast it with your surrounding furniture.
- Donate it: To make the leftover paint worthwhile, donate the colours to any non-profitable organization. This is the best way to make a difference.
- Mix: You can mix all the leftover paint together and give a unique makeover to any of your room. Alternately you can transform the look of a wall using the leftover paint.
