There should be a hike in property prices in different locations of Bhopal in the next financial year. The property prices are expected to rise by 5٪ to 250٪ across 230 locations in the city. This provision has emerged from a recent district assessment committee meeting chaired by Bhopal District Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh. During the meeting, the registration department proposed a second hike in collector guideline rates in Bhopal, which, if approved, will take effect on April 1, 2025.
The proposal follows a directive from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to establish quarterly updates for property guideline rates. Earlier this fiscal year, a similar hike of 5٪ to 300٪ across 243 locations was implemented. However, during the latest meeting, Bhopal South-West MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani raised concerns, advocating for a reduction in proposed rates at 230 locations and the withdrawal of hikes at 13 locations.
The revised proposal, incorporating these changes, will be submitted to the Central Valuation Committee for final approval. Once implemented, property registration will proceed as per the new guidelines, resulting in an average price increase of 8.55٪ across residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors.
