No Indian festive decoration is complete without a presence of traditional food, artefacts, colours, family gatherings and the one we are going in brief – Rangoli. This form of art is so integral part of Indian festival that , for once, there could be a Diwali without crackles, but never be Diwali without Rangloi. Here are some interesting Rangoli forms for you to try :
1 Dot for the beginners
With many complex and intricate rangoli designs on web, the most beautiful and easiest ones are the ones with dot. Popular among the beginners, the design required a dotted grid in required count, to create a design by connecting dots.
2 Flower Rangoli
One of the best types of rangoli - Designs full of flowers and leaves is what makes any event special. A flower rangoli is effectively carved out and decorated by combination of different flower petals and leaves including pink, orange, yellow , white as the basic colour themes. Also, adding mango leaves are always assumed to be auspicious.
3 Quilling Rangoli
Quilling rangoli is made of 100% paper. The real art of creating beautiful paper cuttings into long thin strips or rolling and pinching into shapes is what quilling is all about. All you need to get started with one is a quilling board, some paper strips in colours of your choice, a needle, glue , scissor and a creative mind.
4 Sanskar bharti rangoli
Sanskar bharti is a popular rangoli making style from Maharashtra. Rangoli designs with concentric circles are the most common designs used by the beginners to create one of these. You can make the designs simply by filling in different circles by different colours, or can go further complicated designs by adding patterns made with fine lines.
5 Stencils rangoli
Stencils rangoli are the best way to involve kids in traditional loop. Stencils area easily available in the market in variety of patterns and designs. All you need to do is heap your favourite rangoli colours and rub over the design . The hollow dots on stencils make colour to fall down and create the exact design, while, rest of the colour remains accumulated on the stencil.
6 Water rangoli
Water rangoli is another emerging form of rangoli design. It require the same design colour powder as used on ground. The process is easy – Take a water in vessel, in which you want to create your design. Spread few drops of oil in the same. Spread it well enough to make a design to stick on layer of oil instead of mixing it with the water.
7 Sand rangoli

8 Pulse rangoli
Another traditional rangoli form to incorporate this festive season. Pulse rangoli is the one which is fully made of edible grains. Kidney beans , green moong dal, yellow moong dal, cherios, rice, wheat , split peas, alubia etc. are the grains to bring the colours into the rangoli.
