Potential buyers who are actively looking to buy a property often come across the pressure from the seller or the broker to buy the property as soon as possible. Things like ‘This is the last one left’, ‘the particular offer is only valid for a few more days’, ‘this is the best in the budget you have’, ‘there are other interested buyers too, you must make a decision soon’, are heard too often, that sometimes it influence the buyer's decision towards making the right investment.
The brokers make every property you look at like the best one that is being offered to you. The pressure tactics often lead one to take a quick decision. If you feel the pressure of buying a property, it is better to take a step back and think clearly about your needs and the
financial burden of purchasing a property will cause you.
But why do people often fall for pressure tactics? One main reason could be the perception that there is a lack of options. Even though the builders are ready to sell out their unsold inventory, it is better to explore more options. No matter how much a developer claims that a particular property is the best one you can get at the price, it is not valid. There are plenty of options out there, and a potential buyer will surely find a better option.
Before you take the plunge in property buying, make sure that the property you are interested in is worth the money you are paying. To sell their inventory, the developers often come with offers like a foreign trip, gold coins etc. The proposals are not worth it. It is better to make a sound decision. If it is a ‘right’ property, then it is worth even without the discount. If the property is coming with a discount, make sure you know what the reason for the discount is. Also though the market is witnessing a slow rise, the developers cannot offer a lot of discounts.
- Do not make a rushed decision?
The seller or the broker will pressure you to buy the property immediately, giving you very less time to think about it. But a rushed decision can only lead to issues in future. When making a considerable investment, it is better to make sure that you have given it a proper thought and you are now ready to invest in it. Take your time, even if the broker or the developer keeps telling you that it is the last unit left. There will always be better options in future.
