Interior design is one important aspect people look into after buying their own house. They want to leave no stone unturned to make the house look beautiful. If you decorate your home interior as per vastu it will bring harmony as well as prosperity along with beauty. Vastu opens the door of wealth, health and happiness to the family.

So here are certain tips that you should keep in mind while designing your interior.

Avoid having the toilet or any water tap in the centre of the house. It is believed to drain all the wealth. Also don’t let a leaking tap be there, get it repaired soon as possible because it is believed that it drains wealth away from the house.
The kitchen, toilet and the prayer room should not be attached or kept next to each other.
Keep electrical appliances in the SouthWest direction and appliances like gas or microwave should not be kept facing the main door. Preferably keep the cylinder in the SouthEast direction.
Plants always play a role in the house interiors as well as house harmony. Hence keeping a tulsi/ neem plant at home is good as they are auspicious and helps bring in prosperity and positiveness. Also avoid keeping plants like cactus.
Avoid having restrooms under the staircase because it brings bad luck to the family.
Mirrors are one of the new things people use today to decorate their houses. Mirrors help bring in a lot of positive energy, so correct placement of mirror is very important. Place the mirror in the east or north facing direction where they can flush away the negative energy. Avoid mirror above the bed, it brings disagreement among couples. Also avoid mirror in study rooms.
Use dark and heavy curtains for negative areas like living room and light colours for the positive areas like your bedroom. As per vastu this helps in balancing energies.
Avoid war and violence paintings in your house, use paintings of waterfall, sunrise instead.
Go for bright lighting in your house; dim lighting is not right for the house.
A flat ceiling is mostly preferable without any sort of cuts or levels. Avoid the wave type artificial ceiling in bedrooms. Also, do not have elevated or uplifted ceilings in the bedroom.
For the drawing room, sofa is the first thing we put in there. Keep the sofa preferably in the south or west zone of the drawing room.
Keep the almirah in such a way in the house that it opens towards the North direction and the dining table preferably towards the NorthWest direction.
