Moving from one rented apartment to another call for a lot of hard work. It becomes little more challenging if you have children since they become more attached to the place they are living, more than adults. It can be an overwhelming experience for them to move from one locality to another.

As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure the process of moving is easy on them. We list few tips that will help you in the same:

1.Talk to them:
Before you finalise the new place, make sure to talk to your children about your plans to move to a new apartment and the reason for it. Try to make them a part of the process. Ask them to help you in packing the stuff.

2.Take them for a tour at the new place:
After you shortlist the properties of your choice, take your children with you. Their opinions matter equally. Try to get them familiar with the neighbours and if their children.

3.Well equipped and safe locality:
Before you move into the new locality, make sure it is well equipped and is safe for children. Ask the builder about the installation of CCTV cameras and make sure they are in the working order. An ideal apartment should be fit for the growth of you and your children both physically and mentally. Also, make sure that their school isn’t too far away and have a proper transportation facility.

4.Get them involved:
Le the children do their own packing and unboxing. If they are too young to do the same, then ask them to bring their stuff to you. Ask them to mark the boxes so that they know what it holds.

5.Make sure your kids are first:
Bring their boxes first in the new apartment and unbox them first. This will give them the feeling of being special. Being surrounded by their toys and stuff will make them more comfortable and settling in the new apartment easier for them.

6.Take them around:
Once you have settled into the new apartment, take them for a tour of the property. This will help them in making new friends and getting more familiar with the grounds and locality. Not only children, but it will also help you in getting to know the property more and get to interact with the neighbours.
