8 ways how a kitchen can impact our lives

It is imperative to keep the house clean and clutter-free to attract good fortune, good health and harmony. While every zone is important, we often tend to ignore the kitchen and let things pile up in one of the most important zones of the house. If the kitchen is not clean and organized, it can cause bad health and affect the relationship between the couple. If the kitchen is placed in the wrong zone, it can bring its own share of bad energies. Vastu and Feng Shui consultant Rashi Gaur lists certain aspects that can be taken care of to evade negative energy.
1. Keep the colours in the kitchen restricted to soft food colours such as white, cream, yellow, soft green, etc, to ensure positive energy. Refrain from using strong colours like red and orange.
2. Avoid using reflective glass and mirror in the kitchen as it increases the chances of fire. Also, the heat factor goes up. Glass facing the gas burner or hob is definitely not advisable for the same reason.
3. Clean the kitchen on a regular basis.If there is clutter around, it leads to bad health. Again, your health will get affected if there are rotten vegetables and expired or stale food stored in the fridge or kitchen.
4. Throw away all chipped and cracked crockery such as your glasses, cups and plates as they bring misfortune. Similarly pans with broken handles and lids should be replaced with new ones as it causes bad luck. If broken crockery is used to serve guests, it can bring bad luck to them as well.
5. Rice and atta should be placed in metal containers instead of plastic containers. Metal brings prosperity whereas food placed in plastic looks like waste and takes away prosperity.
6. Fix leaking taps as they cause the wealth to flow out.
7. Dustbins should be cleaned on a daily basis and should be kept covered to keep illness at bay. Try to place the dustbin in the south of South West zone of the kitchen as this zone is considered as the zone of disposal.
8. The right placement of the kitchen is the South East zone of the house. If that’s not possible, you can also have a kitchen in the South, West and North West zone. If the kitchen is placed in the North direction, it blocks career opportunities; when in the East, it causes bad health; when in the North East, it causes mental tensions and when in the South West, it leads to problems in the relationship.
