The lobby of a flat or bungalow plays an important role in creating a first impression, and therefore should be decorated nicely. Interior designer Deeksha Khatree lists simple tips to deck up the space.
- Use warm tones in the lobby area like shades of brown. You can also use a combination of white, ivory with some yellow; any of these shades will look nice.
- Hang some paintings on the wall. This will add a decor element to the space.
- Warm ceiling lights or beautiful hanging lamps with metallic, copper, wooden design will blend well in the lobby area.
- If the lobby area is small, use mirrors on the ceiling and one side wall of the lobby to create a grand look in the entrance.
- Lobby area can also be used to keep shoe rack. A beautiful natural wooden covered shoe rack can be kept in here. The platform of this rack can be decorated with flower vase or any decorative showpiece.
- If the lobby area is spacious it can also be used as a waiting lounge so two comfortable chairs and a chest along the wall side is a perfect sitting for this area.
- Treat the wall with wooden paneling or wallpapers to give a rich look to your home entrance.
- For the flooring of lobby area, you can use designer tiles or lay stones in a square or rectangular format depending on the size or shape of the lobby.
