Do you like the trickling water sound? Fountain expert Nitin Kumar lists the features to keep in mind before you create a fountain.
- Material of construction: Fibre, stone, granite and marble are some of the available options. You can design and plan these fountains in sculpture, idol or water jet theme.
- Features: Opt for water features such as water strings, jets, falls or slides along the wall or glass. You can also create lotus ponds, koi ponds and aquariums in houses.
- Size: The size of the plantations could be in any size ranging from as small as 2 feet in diameter to 500 square feet and more.
- Application: Fountain features can be planned in an open area, drawing rooms, around the staircase, in open yards, kitchens, etc.
- Cost: Readymade water features cost as low as 500 INR. There is no limit on the upper side.
- Vastu and meditation: Water features have a great significance in vastu. The North East corner is preferred for water feature placement. Some people have their temple planned over the water body where they also meditate during morning time.
- Planning: The planning of water features largely depends on the choice of the customer. A perfect water feature design reflects beauty when it is accommodated with landscape. Fountains could be kept indoors or outdoors as per individual choice.
- Maintenance: Small water features don’t attract much maintenance. Only proper cleaning and chemical additives are required to prevent pests from breeding. Bigger features require filtration, power and proper disinfection. Aquariums and koi ponds require more maintenance and need to be given care even when away from home.
