Plates and platters can be used to stunning effect as decorative wall 'collages'. And what's more, this decor strategy is quite easy on the pocket as well. Here are a few tips on displaying them well.
- You can use plates of different design, size, colours and hang them in clusters on the wall to give it an artistic touch.
- Invest in plate hangers and fix circular plates in a single colour on the wall. This looks great above a console or table.
- You can easily give an elevated look to the wall using a vertical display of plates. Line up rectangle or square shape plates in a vertical line on a striped wall near a window or small balcony space.
- Use the space above the door frame in the kitchen to arrange plates horizontally. If there is light on the ceiling it gives a unique feel to the space.
- Colour co-ordinated plates of different size and shape can be displayed neatly above the window area in the living room.
- Align plates vertically on either sides of the frame of the window. This makes the window the centre of attraction.
