With winter setting in you must be looking for ways to warm up your home. Let’s take a look at few tips to insulate your home and keeping your power bills to the minimum.
- First and foremost let natural light in. Raising your curtains or blinds during morning time helps to let in sunlight. Close your blinds or windows in the night to keep the warmth intact.
- Switch on the fans in the house only if necessary during winters. If you have exhaust fans running after a shower, do not switch on the fan as it leads to losing warmth.
- Use an inflated chimney balloon to keep the warm air from escaping the house. Do not use this balloon repeatedly because it gathers dust.
- Check for gaps near door and window frames. Ensure it is sealed if any to keep the warmth intact.
- If you notice a gap between doors and floor, cover it with foam. This ensures heat does not escape and it helps in saving electricity as well.
- Indoor fireplace can be used instead of expensive heaters.
