6 feng shui tips to the right type of ceiling

Ceiling plays an important part in attracting good or bad energy for the house and yet is often ignored. It is the roof above our heads. Hence it is vital to ensure its correct décor. Vastu and feng shui consultant Rashi Gaur lists few tips on how to benefit from the right type of ceiling.
1. In today’s times, due to lack of space probably, we see that the ceiling is much lower than what it should be. In order to utilize space, people often create multiple floors. If the ceiling is too low, it attracts negative energy which over a period of time starts to affect the health and wealth of the residents.
2. Slanting ceiling is another big no-no. Sloping roof can cause sleepless nights and bad dreams. If slanting roof can’t be avoided, it is better to sleep or sit under the highest part of the ceiling. You can also hang bamboo flutes towards the lowest part of the ceiling to fix the flaw.
3. Exposed overhead beams over the bed can cause problems in sleeping, headaches and bad health. Therefore it is best to conceal it. Similarly if the office desk is under an exposed beam, it will never let the person prosper or grow at work. There will always be problems surrounding him as these exposed beams act as a poison arrow. If these can’t be concealed, the next best option is to move the desk or bed from right under it to another zone.
4. Colour is another important aspect to keep in mind. Always keep the colour light and neutral. White and off white are the most suitable colours to paint the ceiling. You must never paint it in dark colours such as blue, black or grey as these colours represent water and you will always get a feeling of drowning in your problems if you do so.
5. Big chandeliers or heavy pieces should not adorn the ceiling right above the bed. Keep it simple or else it will weigh down on the people sleeping on the bed and in due course cause health issues. Also, refrain from having mirror fixtures on the ceiling as it can cause bad dreams.
6. One of the nicest ways to be surrounded with powerful energy is to have the cornice design as three solid lines running around the ceiling. This powerful symbol of 3 unbroken solid lines represents heaven, the leader, the mentor and the patriarch.
