The kid’s bedroom is witnessing a massive change as far as decorations or colours are concerned. Wallpapers are also being used in different ways to create a knowledge-based platform for kids. Rohit Gupta, Managing Director, Elementto Lifestyles, gives simple tips to transform your kid’s bedroom with informative wallpapers.
1. People are moving away from using the age-old blue and pink theme wallpaper in their kid’s bedroom. Today parents want to create a fun-filled environment which can help them grow and learn. Wallpapers with alphabets, numbers and maps are preferable and very much in demand for the kid’s bedroom. The advantage of these wallpapersis that it is easy to maintain and cost-effective.
2. As children grow, parents are giving importance to how their bedroom is being done because this is where they spend most of their time. Therefore the best thing is to put informative wallpapers. In the initial stages, you can start with animal wallpaper or a farm like backdrop and keep changing it as and when required.
3. As far as colours are concerned, pastel colours work best for the kid’s bedroom as they give an attractive look and are easy on the eye.
4. For a girl’s bedroom, floral theme wallpaper in a lighter shade will make the room stand out. Similarly for boy’s bedroom, a toy story theme, cars, water, toys, etc can be used. Brick format wallpaper, geometric figures, buildings in the boy’s bedroom gives it an antique and rustic look. Murals of maps, animals, farm or aerospace can be used in both the girls and boys bedroom apart from stripes, polka dots and other geometric pattern.
5. Young girls prefer a vintage theme in their bedroom. Getting up wallpaper for the vintage theme is not at all expensive. So you can use vintage floral wallpaper or vintage chandelier wallpaper as it suits the theme perfectly. This gives a rich and English look to the bedroom.
