Louvers ensure ventilation and are a functional element that helps to keep dust, water away. Interior designer Sneha Samtani reveals how louvers can be used in different ways in homes.
- To add ventilation to the area near the sink in the washroom, louvers can be used. As this is generally a wet area the ventilation can help to keep the place dry.
- Another place where louvers can be used is the laundry area near the clothes dryer. You can have a single shutter wardrobe with louvers to keep your towels, pillows, bed sheets etc.
- Doors also can be made out of louvers. This facilitates ventilation and helps to spread light as well. The space will be naturally illuminated as a result of the louvers.
- Closet or low maintenance area where shoes, bags and belts are placed can have louvers. You can custom design these closets according to your preference. Half glass and half louver closet is one option. However this is not recommended for areas or places which accumulates dust easily.
- Horizontal stacking of planes with alternate louver in different colours will also look great in living rooms. It can act as fencing in villas and help bring in natural daylight.
