Modifying a mundane wall into something with interesting features is no more expensive. Monica Chadha, Interior designer and Director, Design Deconstruct, gives you simple ideas to add a creative touch to walls.
- Blend the opposites: Combine chic with raw to add a contemporary look to your plain walls. Give your walls an ultra-modern look with some beautiful looking wooden tiles. Couple this with chic furniture to turn heads. Use tiles with small panels and wooden look to give an earthy, warm and cosy touch. This process will save you from applying paint that corrodes over a period of time.
- Stack up in style: We all have that corner that we stack mindlessly. So stack up little things in style and create that nook for yourself. Use thick moldings to make various racks and segregate them with nicely painted wooden shelves.
- Be urbane: Frames add a personal touch to a space. Put these just behind your favourite sofa in the living room. These frames will help you recall the wonderful times spent with your loved ones other than giving a personal touch to your living room.
- Portraits: Add portraits in matte or glossy finish to add charm to a space. Your walls will rightly adopt features and give it an elegant look and feel. One colour of the portrait on the wall will allow you to add colours in other parts of the room. If you have a big room, you can add a portrait that is suitable to the wall as per your choice.
- Artistic wall: Just like a collage, collect your royal belongings and place them artistically on your wall. Opt for items that are similar to your furniture. This will give a contrast feature to your wall. Dark wall and light colored items will enhance the beauty of the room instantly.
