An evenly browned toast largely depends on the quality of a toaster. Ramesh Chembath, Business Head – Kitchen Appliances, Usha International, tells you what to look out for while purchasing the right appliance for this job.
1. As the raison d'etre of a toaster is to give you evenly toasted bread, ensure that the one you've selected is up to the task. If you so desire, don't hesitate in asking for a demo.
2. The control knob will assist you in using the product in an efficient way. Look out for number dials or touch pads. Also, check whether the slot size is deep enough in case you choose to use oblong bread. This will help you toast big slices.
3. Ensure that the toaster comes with a dust cover. This prevents dust particles or any unwanted substances from entering the bread slots, allowing them to be clean and hygienic.
4. The crumb tray of the toaster should be easy to remove and slide to ensure easy cleaning.
5. For safety purposes, the toasters should have an automatic shut off or a mid-cycle cancel button. This function will allow you to withdraw the bread from the slots at any given point while being toasted.
