We all want beautiful homes and artwork plays an important role. But selecting the right kind of artwork can often go wrong. Interior designer Mohit Mishra offers some easy tips to help you choose the ideal artwork for your home.
- Follow your heart: This is a very important aspect to look out for. Choose an artwork that you fall in love with. But try to answer few questions like whether it suits the look and feel of your home décor, does it reflect your personality or thoughts? Also, try to understand the message that the artwork conveys.
- Size: Select an artwork of appropriate size. Ensure it is in sync with the size of the room or the place where you want to place it. This will help to make your decor look more elegant.
- Budget: Artworks need not be expensive always. Allocate a budget for yourself and then choose your pick. Also, the artwork need not be bought; it can be a beautiful painting made by you or your dear ones or any of your beautiful clicks. Just frame it and adorn your wall.
- Match the artwork with your home decor: Check whether the artwork you choose go with the style and ambience of your home. If you have a traditional theme, go for some Indianized painting like pattachitra or miniature paintings.
- Location: Decide where you want to place the artwork. It could be your living room, bedroom or even bathroom. Then, opt for the layout of the artwork accordingly. For your bedroom, you can choose an image of flowers or wonderful scenery, whereas for a living room, you can go with an image of flowers or anything that goes with your theme.
