Changing walls can give your space a complete new look. You can opt for painting but that’s a tedious task. So why not to use wall paper. Here are some reasons by Mohit Mishra, Founder, Urban Upgrade that will help to decide on using wall papers rather than paint.
- Wide variety: wall papers are available in ample of designs, colours starting from flowers to geometric designs to sceneries to cartoon characters for children. So you get numerous options to adorn your walls.
- Cost: although both wall paper and painting are expensive in their own way. But due to its long term use, wallpaper can be considered a cheaper medium. Then wallpapers are easily available in different paterns and designe but you need to hire a professional to make patterns or texture on your painted wall.
- Safety: many people have problem with the smell from paint. The fumes from paint can have negative impact on the health. Some low quality paints contains chemicals and pigments that can harm environment also. But wall papers does not have all these problems.
- Durability: usually you need to paint after every 3 to 5 years. But if you maintained a wall paper properly then it can be last for about 10 to 15 years.
- Application time: Paints and oil-based paints require about 2 to 3 coats and usually take very long time to get dry. Whereas a wall paper can be applied at one go and an entire house of a decent size can be covered in one day.
