5 Points to Keep in Mind While Purchasing A Water Purifier

Water contamination is a grave problem in India, leaving many consumers in search of reliable access to clean and safe drinking water. Since the market is flooded with a variety of water purifiers that claim to provide clean and healthy water, it is very important to choose the right one that ensures the water you drink is safe. Shashank Sinha, Senior GM-Marketing, Eureka Forbes Ltd, gives a few pointers to keep in mind while purchasing a water purifier.

1. Water Quality: People assume that there is one technology that can solve all water problems. The fact is that there are 17 different kinds of water conditions across India and there is not one size-fits-all solution that can be adopted to purify water. Therefore, understand the water quality in your area and accordingly decide on the purifier. For example, the water supply from the municipal corporation in different cities should be safe with regards to the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) of water and you can be sure that there will never be any poisonous chemicals like arsenic in it but it may contain harmful bacteria and virus.

2. There are two types of non-electric water purifiers: online and offline (or storage type). The online option is fixed to the mouth of taps.These purifiers are portable and do not need electricity.Made of plastic, the filter candle usually has a resin filter that needs to be changed every month.The offline type has a combination of sediment filters and activated carbon filters. This type of storage is very helpful in places facing water shortage.
