- Material: There are a number of options available for tiles such as clay tiles, concrete tiles, metal tile, slate tiles and many more in an array of colours and styles. These are useful to match various interior styles like European, contemporary, colonial or historical style of roofing. Opt for tiles that complement your home decor.
- Shape: Roofing tiles are available in curved, flat among other shapes. Go for shapes that will be suitable to your home. Clay tiles are usually barrel shaped and red in colour and concrete and metal ones can take on different style and personalities.
- Cost and durability: Tiles roofs are probably the most expensive and durable roofing solution that increases with its installation and labour cost. Make a checklist that includes level of fire safety, insect repellence, thermal insulation level and maintenance.

- Climatic condition: Tile roofing is used to beautify home exteriors. Check the exposure of tiles with respect to salt water, high winds, snow or freezing, rain or thawing cycles and select the ones that can withstand your home environment.
