If your kitchen is neat and clean, your family members will also be healthy and happy. Vishal Raman, Head of Sales, Franke Faber India, lists a few tips on how to keep your stainless-steel sink clean.

  1. Cleaning: As these sinks are made with premium chrome nickel steel, they should be regularly cleaned with Inox cream. This is easy to apply and remove dirt, stain and maintain the shine of the sink. Apply this cream on a damp cloth and clean the sink. Wash with water and wipe with a clean dry cloth immediately.
  2. Scratches: Stainless steel gets ruined with even a small amount of scratch in the material. If there is any kind of scratch in the sink, use 3M Scotch Brite pad and mix it with Inox cream and wipe the scratches with this. Ensure that there is no cream on the scratches and wash the surface properly.
  3. Stains and rust: Stainless steel is prone to rust. You can get rid of rust by using oxalic acid cleaning agent. For harsh and stubborn stains on the sink, a mild cleaning agent would prove better than a non-abrasive cleaning agent. The cleaning agent in use is not an issue but thorough cleaning is very important. Never use ordinary carbon brushes or steel wool pads to clean the sink.
  4. Items to be avoided: Do not use hyper chloride bleach and silver deep cleaner. Lemon juice, salt, vinegar, pickle and mayonnaise should not be left in the sink for too long because they may cause stains and also decrease the shine. Strong acidic materials like developing liquids or denture cleaners should be kept at a distance from the sink.
