4 Tips to Use Indian Prints in Modern Decor

The wooden delight: Indian prints and wooden décor are a match made in heaven. Be it a varnished, exposed wood bed or patio style wooden sofa set. These two can never fail to make an impression. If you aim to keep décor in Indian style, it's advisable to go for wooden pieces which belong to the same cadre. The homogeneity of the wood adds the perfect base to compliment the Indian prints.
Fresh background: Since Indian prints, décor items are generally available in warm undertones, its best to use them in rooms with fresh wall colours. Colours like oyster, buttermilk help in enhancing the print. These colours not only compliment the Indian print but also assist in creating a better focus on décor elements.
Add some solid colours: Adding solid colours like brick coloured cushions or chromatic curtains will give a contemporary look to the setting. Since Indian prints tend to have a lighter background, use of solid coloured accessories provides a polished mix of legacy and new world trends.
Mix it up: Unlike its European counterparts, it's advisable to mix various prints like Kashmiri, block prints, Ikat in various forms. If you have a Jaipuri bedding set, then, cushion covers in paisley will add exceptional flamboyance to your milieu. Similarly, if your sofa has Ikat print, you can team it up with Kalmakari printed cushions.
