Bedsheets are a key ingredient in the overall decoration of the room. You might like to use the same bed layover in different combinations to heighten the bedroom décor. To give a different look with the same bedsheet all you need to do is try some permutations and combinations and coordinate the colours, shapes and patterns of the same bed cover with the flow of the room. Here are 3 ways to use the same bedsheet for different looks in your room by Sonam Gupta, Design Head of Tangerine.
- The focal point is the bedsheet you have used. Take into account the colour, design or the pattern and match it up with the extra layer of cushions on the bed. Yes, throws using a lot of cushions is for convenience and fashion together. Don't just do by laying cushions on the bed. The idea is to use decorative cushion covers which too are amply available
Pro tip: Try to mix and match a neutral shade with a vibrant colour like a red or a purple. It will instantly add the gloss in a subtle and sober way. On an occasion, you can make your choice between the sheen and the shimmering of red and bronze respectively.
- Again, with a bedsheet at the nucleus, take time to look for duvets and comforters. These are extra layers on the bed and when kept in a nice, folded way, it definitely heightens the look and feel of the complete décor. Such is the layered prominence. They can almost cover a three-fourth portion of the bed before they get wrapped on the bed nicely in the one-neat thick fold.
Pro tip: There are duvet covers available in solids like red and blue that will immediately attract attention yet look sober and sleek in their own style. However, your prime stuff, which is the bedsheet, pillow, and now the duvet, should never look displeasing to each other. A white base sheet will help you in choosing more vivid colours, while an already bold colour and design on the bedsheet will compel you to choose something soberer like a neutral Wheat or a Desert Safari duvet colour cover.
- The whole bedsheet décor including the pillows, cushions, duvets or as you please it to be, has to be adequately and appropriately matched with the window curtains. It is important since draperies are always of flowing length and add a lot to the grace and elegance of fabrics in the bedroom. Your bed dressing is incomplete if you don't find a suitable match in the window curtains.
Pro tip: Even if you don't have too much window length like floor to ceiling, it is still recommended to use high fall curtains, especially on the top. If you keep a bit outwards length, it will create an illusion of grandeur. Do it only if you wish to highlight the bedroom décor using curtains. Even if you use mid-length curtains, it still makes room to match it up with the bedsheet in design and colours. Usually, a multi-coloured bed sheet must be matched with curtains of neutral or a solid colour. Pick up the colour which is most prominent on the bed dressings, like in a multi-colour display there is always a certain shade which gains precedence over the rest. Use that one shade to add aglow to the complete décor of your room.
