It is very important to get rid of junk and clutter that takes up unwanted space in the house to ensure that prosperity prevails. Getting rid of clutter also fills the space with fresh energy. Vastu and feng shui consultant Rashi Gaur lists a few things to do on a regular basis to de-clutter in order to find peace and prosperity.
- Start removing the clutter from one room at a time. You can start with one cupboard or a cabinet at a time. If you take on too much upon yourself, you may feel overwhelmed and probably leave it in the middle.
- If you haven’t used certain clothes, garments, quilts or blankets in the last few years, chances are you never will. Unless you want to store something for memories or sentimental values, it’s best to give them away to someone who needs it.
- Clear the shoe cabinet and get rid of endless paper bills and slips hidden in the drawers.
- Don’t forget to keep deleting unwanted files from your computer and unwanted piling messages on your phone.
- Once you clear cabinets, hidden corners, lofts, etc, you are helping the stagnant energy to start moving again. Stagnation can really hamper your growth. Hence it is of utmost importance to de-clutter your space on a regular basis.
- Open the windows every day and let the sun in. A gentle breeze entering the house brings with it a fresh lease of opportunities.
- De-clutter and de-junk your kitchen space. Throw away broken utensils and crockery because chipped and broken stuff in the kitchen brings bad luck to its residents.
- Re-vitalize your house by renovating or at least re-painting your house every few years. It’s like a new lease of life for your home.
- Every now and then add a new light or two or a new lamp to your house.
- Lighting incense or adding aroma through camphor is a great way of uplifting stagnant energies and get them moving.
